Bland Landscaping Co. Modular Conference Kit

Like many frequent conference exhibitors, Bland Landscaping Co. (BLC) encountered booth dimensions that weren’t exactly as advertised. Conferences involve fast-paced setups by nature, and vendors with a little flexibility regarding footprint have fewer headaches. Even a few inches short in your booth space can mean your setup suddenly doesn’t fit, or maybe your booth layout becomes less inviting because it’s cramped. It’s a challenge, more so when sharing the space with a partnering brand.

In BLC’s case, they wanted to share booth booth space with their aquatics division, Foster Lake & Pond Management. Not at every conference, but often enough to need a coordinated setup. A modular approach was the clear answer. We found the solution in a magnetic panel set that would give each brand two panels to work with.

By using the same layout structure and fonts for each graphic backdrop, we were able to maintain brand parity without sacrificing their unique identities. The larger panel in the kit focuses on brand legacy with minimal text, and a watermark effect on the background image for texture. The smaller panels include supplementary branding, and photos to help visualize the breadth of their integrated services. These panels work well as standalones in small spaces, or linked together to form one big backdrop for larger booths. The kit is lightweight and easy to put together or take apart—a huge advantage for any exhibitor. Truly, the Transformers of booth setups.

Beyond sourcing and designing the modular backdrops, the other major aspect of this project was creating a cohesive booth kit. Rather than build a backdrop in isolation of everything else, we first took the time to learn what it’d be surrounded by.

It’s part of our approach to any project, and here it paid dividends by leaving room for other pieces to pitch in and make an inviting space.

With that context, we could get to work drafting content by design for each anchor piece and laying out how they work together. The tabletop banners feature different project images and calls-to-action than the backdrops, all tailored to be fantastic supplements to each other. But, just as importantly, we made sure they still function well as standalones for smaller booth spaces. The table throws feature the most simplified, supportive messaging—and add a touch more color to the space via a unifying gradient of Bland and Foster’s primary brand colors.

The modular kit as a final, cohesive booth set that offers flexible layout options. (Hardware is an approximate representation.)

We’re so pleased that we were able to help Bland and Foster achieve a flexible kit. Now, they can exhibit more confidently with vibrant materials effective for any space—and with messaging that stays effective no matter what combination of materials are displayed together.
